The 60-hour Principles and Practices of Real Estate course has been approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Maryland Real Estate Commission. This course satisfies the minimum education requirements to sit for the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Examination.
The class is 60 classroom hours and students can expect to spend an additional six hours per week completing homework. 90% of the course will be presented as lecture and classroom discussion with quizzes and tests making up the remainder of class time. Adequate time will be allowed for questions. The Student to Instructor ratio will not exceed 20:1.
The objectives of the Basic course are to familiarize the student with the basic principles involved in the sale, purchase, ownership and transfer of real property interest and to satisfy the basic educational requirements of the Maryland Real Estate Commission for a license to sell real estate.
